Antipyretic Analgesics-The drugs which reduce elevated body
temperature.ex-Aconite
Anthelmintic-This are the drugs which kill or expel
worms from the G.I Tract.ex-Santonica Flower,Chenopodium oil
Aphrodisiac-This are the agents which stimulate
sexual desire.ex-Iahsun
Appetizer-This are the drugs which increase the
desire for food.ex-Cinchona,Nux-Vomica
Bitter-Bitters are the drugs having bitter taste
,due to bitter taste they stimulate nerves and stimulate secretion of stomach
and appetite.ex-Cinchona,Nux-Vomica
Carminative-The agent that expels gas from the GI
Tract Are known as carminatives. ex-Fennel,Dill,Caraway
Cathartics-These are drastic purgatives,the stools
produced are watery in nature.ex-Castor oil,Rhubarb
Counter Irritant-This are the drugs which whaen applied
externally produces irritation.This irritation is mild in nature,this
irritation reduces the original pain sensation.ex-Camphor,Turpentine oil,Methyl
salicylate.
Diaphoretic-This are the drugs which reduce the
elevated body temperature by increasing the rate of sweating. ex-Tulsi,Camphor
Diuretic-The drug which increases the rate of
formation and excretion of urine are known as diuretic. ex-Tea,Bucchu leaves
Emetic-This are the drugs which bring about
vomiting.ex-mustard,Ipecac senega
Expextorant-The drug/agent which increases the
fluidity of cough and helps in easy removal of cough is known as expectorant.
ex-Vasaka,Tolu-Balsam,Benzoin
Febrifuge-This are the drugs which reduce the body
temperature.
Hypnotic-This are the drugs which produce sleep
like natural sleep.ex-opium
Laxative-The drugs which evacuate the bowel and
thus relive from constipation are known as laxatives. ex-senna.
The drugs which
have mild purgative action are known as laxatives.
Oxytocic-This are the drugs which cause the
contraction of uterus.ex-ergot
Purgative-The drugs which evacuate the bowel and

Sedative-This are the drugs which lovers the
activity of any organ or central nervous system.(Tranquillizer)
Stomachic-This are the drugs which increases the
secretion of gastric juice and functions stomach and
digestion.ex-Fennel,Dill,Gentian
Stimulant-This are
the drugs which cause local irritation on the walls of the organ and bring
about certain movements.
